waste transfer station
The Chenoweth’s Family have been serving Cornwall from our current location since the 1950’s, making us one of the longest operational independent waste transfer stations in Cornwall. We accept inert, non-hazardous waste and aim to separate and recycle almost everything we receive in line with our environmental permit. We welcome wastes from a variety of sources and industries ranging from the building industry through to privately generated waste. We work closely with our regulators, the Environment Agency, to deliver our waste services to the highest possible standards. Our site is overseen by a WAMITAB and IOSH qualified manager who guides the company in correct management of the wastes that we are permitted to accept.
In addition to our collection vehicles delivering waste to our waste transfer station, we are also able to accept direct deliveries of waste from individuals. However, as we offer a domestic house clearance and collection service, you might find it easier, safer and more convenient to arrange for us to collect direct from you – saving you all the hard work!
And, if you have building waste to be cleared and collected but are also awaiting new construction material, we can do both – saving you time and money. It’s simple: we drop off your construction delivery and in return, pick up and remove your building waste products.

Our unique mix of waste separation, processing and removal machinery helps us to recycle plastics, card, glass, metals, wood, plasterboard and hard core. The team we have, combined with this great machinery, offers our yard as a versatile and valuable contributor to the broader Cornish Waste Management mix.
We operate a weighbridge system and can accept loads of waste brought in at random. We can accept 6 or 8 wheelers or simply wastes brought through the gate by yourselves – alternatively we can collect from your door to make life easier for you.
Please scroll down to our outline list of what we do and don’t accept through the gates, if you have any questions give us a ring to see if we accept the wastes in question.
Our opening hours are 07:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday. The yard is closed on Saturdays and Sundays
